EURO CAMP 2002

(Prišćapac 25.05.2002 – 01.06.2002.)

Srednja škola Blato – Eotvoš Jozsef Gymnasium

 

After 2 years participating in the international camp at Lake Balaton, and after organising the camp last year on Prišćapac, this year Srednja škola Blato took part again in organising the Euro camp.

It’s planned for 17 students from the Eotvoš Jozsef Gymnasium with the company of 2 teachers.

 

The teachers who came were:

According to their interests and work in different school projects but also success in school and discipline 14 students from our school are chosen to go to the camp.

During April and May the students prepared to participate in different workshops which were held over there.

Our school prepared 2 workshops:

                   Physical and chemical characteristics of the Adriatic sea, who prepared and led Ivana Biško with the help of Marija Pecotić, Vida Cetinić, Maja Gavranić and Marija Sardelić

                Mediterranean Flora who led Marela Donjerković with the help of Daniella Damjanović, Ivana Blitvić, Mileva Milat, Marin Petković and Ljubo Kunjašić

                  Visual Arts: Kiss Mihaly the Hungarian Visual Art teacher organised and led the 3rd group. These are the students from our school who participated in the visual arts group: Maja Šeparović, Tina Stanojević, Fanita Bačić, Antonela Petković and Zdravko Tomašić

 

The Euro camp was held from the 25th of May till the 1st of June in Prišćapac at Prižba.

Immediately after the arrival of the Hungarian teachers and students that afternoon, the students were settled among apartments together with the Croatian students. This way from the beginning started an intensive friendship between the Croatian and Hungarian students.

 

Here is the program that we were given during our week at Prišćapac Prižba:

 

Saturday 25th May:

Settling in the students at the bungalows and dinner

Sunday the 26th May:

          From 9 am till 12 pm – Morning workshops

 Visual Arts – Free choice of drawing

Mediterranean Flora and Biocenosis – Getting to know each other

          From 4 pm till 6 pm – Afternoon workshops

Visual Arts – Free choice of drawing

      Mediterranean Flora and Biocenosis – From 4 pm till 5 pm: Collecting rubbish

                                                                           From 5 pm till 6 pm: Identifying

Monday the 27th May:

Excursion to Hvar for the Hungarian teachers and students.

     The Croatian students were at school that day.

Tuesday the 28th of May:

It was a little cloudy and rainy so we were unable to work outdoors.

From 9 am till 12 pm

Visual Arts – Drawing portraits of each other

Mediterranean Flora and Biocenosis – Done some experiments and viewed things under a microscope.

         From 4 pm till 6 pm we finished off our work.

Wednesday the 29th of May:

          From 9 am till 12 pm

Visual Arts – Just the Croatian students were drawing

Mediterranean Flora and Biocenosis – All the Hungarian students went to visit Blato.

          They  saw the Oil  factory, the wine cellar behind the school and a few other places.

         From 12 pm till 1 pm they were free to explore Blato on their own.

From 4 pm till 6 pm the Mediterranean Flora group and some students from the Biocenosis group: 

          Going to Morkan, getting to know Flora and Fauna.

Thursday the 30th of May:

The Hungarian teachers and students went to Dubrovnik

Students from Blato were together, swimming, sunbathing and having a rest.

Friday the 31st of May:

          From 9 am till 12 pm

 Preparing for the presentation

Collecting Sea Urchins, Sea snails and other sea animals from the sea.

Cooking and preparing “Motar” salad which is a type of plant that grows in rocks by the sea.

Preparing results of the determination of visibility, temperature and chemical characteristics of the Mediterranean Sea.

During the period of this week while on work but even in our spare time the students from Srednja škola Blato along with the students from Hungary practised speaking English and German.

The last afternoon of our Euro camp Prišćapac all the workshops presented their works.

The presentation was a success and it’s said that the camp will hopefully continue next year in Luxemburg or Germany.

In organising the projects, besides the leaders of the workshops Ivana Biško, Marela Donjerković, Kiss Mihaly also took part:

Dubravka Klokić, professor of the German language (Ger. Teacher)
